Description
In our time together, I will address some of the key components to helping couples move from protection to connection. We will explore the fundamentals of healthy conflict, and how we support couples in activating empathic resonance.
The Main Points of This Workshop:
- Introduction to the core principles of Bioenergetic Analysis
- Video demonstration and clinical discussion of a Bioenergetic therapy session
- Discussion of touch literacy in psychotherapy
- Discussion of the integrated use of catharsis
- Therapist use of self in support of the client’s energetic flow
Participants will learn:
- Understanding had to be in control without being controlling.
- Recognizing what each person is fighting FOR.
- The principle of “emotional layering.”
- How to distinguish young and adult needs.
- How to incorporate “catalyzing” interventionsLearn how the titration between following and directing the client’s energetic expression facilitates the movement toward integration.

Brian Gleason, LCSW, has more than 30 years of experience in working with organizations, groups, couples, and individuals in a variety of mental health, corporate, wellness, and educational settings. Brian is a senior faculty member of the NY Institute of Core Energetics. He teaches internationally and is author of Mortal Spirit. Brian maintains a private practice in the Ashville, North Carolina area for individuals, groups, and couples, and provides supervision for therapists. Brian and his wife, Marcia Gleason, developed the Exceptional Marriage, a body-based methodology for working with committed relationships. Brian has taught world-wide and trained over two hundred practitioners and therapists in the Embodied Relationship approach. Brian and Marcia co-authored: Going All The Way: The Heart & Soul of the Exceptional Marriage and Exceptional Relationships: Transformation Through Embodied Couples Work. They offer professionals a body mind approach to engage couples. His latest book is: Relative to Everything - Reclaiming Intimacy in a Time of Global Crisis.
