Jaci Hull, L.M.F.T. Jaci is a Certified Hakomi Trainer leading workshops and trainings internationally since 1996. She is alumni faculty of the Somatic Psychology program at Naropa University and the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute, and is a co-developer of Experiential Couples Psychotherapy. Jaci received her M.A. in Contemplative Psychotherapy. Her post-graduate training includes certifications in Family Therapy, EMDR, Somatic Trauma Resolution, Brainspotting, and Relational Life Therapy.. A licensed psychotherapist in practice for over 30 years, Jaci works with individuals and couples, emphasizing clear, heartfelt and solution-focused communication and transformation.

Description

In this workshop participants will learn the basic theory of The Hakomi Method and then explore one of it’s most iconic techniques known as “Taking Over”. This technique allows for the understanding, processing and transformation of stuck patterns, both cognitive and physiological.


The Main Points of This Workshop:

  • Orientation to the Hakomi Method of Mindfulness-Centered Somatic Psychotherapy
  • Orientation to Working Somatically with Emotional Material
  • The Theory of “Taking Over”
  • Demonstration
  • Practice in Dyads or Triads
  • Closing Debrief and Q and A

Participants will learn:

  • To identify opportunities for Taking Over in the session
  • Setting up the exploration in mindfulness ensuring permission, safety, mindful presence and rapport.
  • Getting meaning from the tension or clarity from Taking Over inner voices or thoughts.
  • Tracking physiological shifts and contacting changes in the stuck place.
  • A brief personal experience of the method in dyads.
